Holy cow!
Yoga in Bali seems like one of the most obvious things to do there and almost everywhere you could go to a yoga course. Kilroy had set me up with a wonderful yoga place to have two classes every day called Power of Now Oasis in Sanur.
This cottage close to the beach offers various types and difficulties of yoga classes and right outside they have a holy cow, as in Hinduism they represent mother earth.
I spent my days doing yoga and eating vegeterian foods found all over Sanur. I really felt at peace and decided to buy one of those baggy elephant pants that everyone seemed to be wearing.
Riding a rental bike by the beach to the yoga studio, feeling the breeze of the sea and enjoying the moment felt wonderful and nothing could break my stride.
After all I was getting more flexible with all the yoga and more at ease in my soul.
Feeling on top of the world I parked my bike and went to the class in my new elephant pants. I set up my mat and went through the tree, the warrior, the triangle and then.. the leg down dog.
Lifting my leg high behind me I felt it. The unmistakable feeling of a rip. My pants. My brand new pants were not as flexible as me at that moment and they ripped right in the middle of my ass.
No one seemed to notice though, and I was all the way in the back of the class so I thought that I would just take the loss and sneak out quietly.
I rolled up my mat while everyone was busy watching the teacher but no, this wonderful woman was worried
”Are you okay?” she asked across the room.
”Yeah, I just have to go, sorry!”
The kind soul saw something was clearly wrong and came over and asked again.
”Are you alright?”
”I ripped my pants..” I whispered.
”What?”
”I RIPPED MY PANTS!” I said loudly.
I saw a smile sly across her face before she composed herself and said I was free to leave, as the whole class tried to stifle a laughter.
To be fair, it is quite hilarous and I myself couldn’t help but laugh as I spent the next 20 minutes in the bathroom trying to wrap my pants so I could walk the 15 minutes to my hotel. No way was I risking a bike ride.
So, after that I did not go back to the yoga studio as I thought that was enough yoga, at least to do in front of the same students and teachers that were there.
