Tips for booking flights
This is just a little list of tips I’ve learned while booking my trips
Always search for flights in incognito/private browsing mode. If you search for the same flight over and over again, it will go up in price but you can avoid this if you don’t leave a trail in your internet browsing history.
Use Skyscanner or Google Flights. I personally like using Skyscanner for the cheapest flights and if I find a good price I keep it on price alert through their app. However, Google flights can be very good for more general searches, such as those without a destination.
Be flexible. I know it can be hard to be entirely flexible but you will get cheaper options for flights if you for example select a whole month or not any dates at all. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, you can even try searching without a destination, you’ll be surprised how much cheaper the flights are!
Try to book one flight at a time. I was trying to book a multi country trip recently and I realised it was way more expensive if I booked it all together. It’s also helpful to know that if you’re going to a cheaper country than your own it could benefit you to book any extra flights from there while you’re there, like your flight back.
Don’t be overly loyal to flight companies. It will probably save you money to fly with different companies to and from your trip and combined with the tip above, you can always book your ticket back while you’re on the trip.
